Saturday, Dec 10, 2011, 7:00pm
Want to listen to some great music while helping out a great cause?
Come join us for the 9TH ANNUAL ADVENT HOPE HOLIDAY BENEFIT CONCERT on the evening of December 10th! This year's concert will benefit the Tropical Health Alliance Foundation's Visually Impaired Persons (VIP) Project, helping to both prevent and treat blindness among the people of Ethiopia.
Several of New York City's hottest musicians will play, including acclaimed powerhouse singer/songwriter LEAH SIEGEL of Firehorse, indie rock collective LITTLE SUR, alt-country / folk-pop group NUMBERS AND LETTERS, swinging Cuban orchestra YERASON, indie folk singer and songwriter WILL STRATTON, and GYM, DEER, whose totally unique sound can only be described as "folktronic indie worldbeat/pop".
The concert will be held at Church of the Advent Hope, located at 111 E. 87th Street (between Park and Lexington) on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 7pm. There will be a reception immediately following the performances.
Bring your friends, be generous, and be prepared for an evening of unforgettable music!
More About the Cause: Ethiopia has one of the highest percentages of blind people per capita of any country in the world, and 80% of this blindness is either preventable or treatable. Compounding the tragedy is that many children fall into a life of servitude to those who are blind, preventing them from getting an education or even playing with their friends. The Tropical Health Alliance Foundation provides funding for front-line organizations addressing this devastating problem.
