THE IMPACT OF THE CONCERT AND YOUR DONATIONS

Through a partnership between Church of the Advent Hope and the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), funds raised will support ADRA's Fishermen Empowerment project in Petite Rivière, Leogane, Haiti. Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere, has the world's third highest hunger rate. Despite ample stocks of fresh fish in the waters surrounding Haiti, most Haitians must import dried or canned fish because the country's subsistence-level fishing industry cannot preserve and transport native seafood. The Fishermen Empowerment project invests in Haiti's fishing industry and the lives of Haitian fishermen and their families, providing participants with boats and hoop nets and training to preserve and market their seafood in an environmentally sustainable manner.

OUR PARTNER IN THIS EFFORT

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) was initiated by the Seventh-day Adventist church. The basis for its existence, its reason for being, is to follow Christ's example by being a voice for, serving, and partnering with those in need.

ADRA seeks to identify and address social injustice and deprivation in developing countries. The agency's work seeks to improve the quality of life of those in need. ADRA invests in the potential of these individuals through community development initiatives targeting Food Security, Economic Development, Primary Health and Basic Education.
