Additional Opportunities
The Churh of the Advent Hope offers several opportunities to get involved. Below are some specific ways you, or someone you know, could help.
- Administrative: Preparing a Resource List. We need a volunteer to assist in the preparation of a short document (1-2 pages in length) that lists organizations and government agencies that can assist persons in Manhattan who need food, clothing, shelter, financial assistance and other resources. Contact Michael Brown () for more information.
- Administrative: An individual with good computer skills is needed to copy address book data from the Juno platform to an MS Excel spread sheet. This work would be performed for First Friends, a charitable organization.
- Mentoring: 4th through 8th grade students at Future Leaders Institute Charter School on 122nd Street between Seventh Avenue and Lenox Avenue. The one-on-one mentoring sessions take place every Thursday between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. during the academic year and is structured and supervised by school staff. Numerous students are waiting to be matched with mentors. If you’re interested in this opportunity, please contact Michael Brown at for further details.
